About Me

Welcome to Earth & Easel Studio! I’m Kai, a gardener, artist, and explorer deeply inspired by the beauty of the natural world and its rich history.

My journey has taken me from the world of animation, where I specialised in environment design, to the outdoors, where I now blend artistic vision with hands-on gardening expertise.

Growing up, I was captivated by the stories landscapes tell—whether through a forest bathed in golden light or a garden brimming with life. Today, I carry that same sense of curiosity and wonder into everything I create, from permaculture-inspired garden designs to immersive landscape paintings. Based in Wiltshire, I love discovering the UK’s hidden corners, deepening my connection to the land, and honing my craft.

With over five years of gardening experience, a Permaculture Design Certificate, and a degree in Animation Production, I bring a unique blend of skills to my work. My time as a background artist sharpened my abilities in storytelling, colour theory, and composition, while my gardening experience equipped me with practical knowledge in transforming outdoor spaces.

These skills, combined with my love of wild camping, foraging, and bushcraft, inform my approach to both art and gardening. My ultimate goal? To one day create a non-profit sanctuary garden where others can reconnect with nature in meaningful ways.
